The carbon fibre bass reed produces a deep, strong tone and is extremely steady. It comes fitted with a flat silicone bridle for accurate and easy strength adjustment. A tuning screw in the detachable nose cone allows for extra pitch adjustment.
Our new inverted polycarbonate bass reed adds extra reliability when striking in - a must for any band piper. Giving a rich, smooth tone, this bass, when matched with our tenor reeds will make your pipes hum! This reed was developed and played by PM Ryan Canning within Field Marshal Montgomery in 2012 and is now the bass reed of choice in Shotts & Dykehead Caledonia. It is available in standard or high pitched variations.
Launched in 2011, our polycarbonate bass reed give pipers an extra choice when selecting drone reeds. The polycarbonate bass produces a more blended tone for added warmth from your pipes. It is extremely stable in even the wettest conditions and comes in both standard and high pitched variations.
